Accept that our relationships are flawed, imperfect, and transient.

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

Hey!!

Hello everyone!!

My world is Wabi-Sabi!!

With the start of the most recent stage of my existence, I'm learning to accept the hazy, deficient, and transient. I want to embrace the Wabi Sabi way of life and enjoy my defects amid the fast-paced, seemingly pristine world of today. In case you're still unclear what Wabi Sabi is, let me explain.

It’s all about embracing the imperfect, incomplete and impermanent in our relations.

Relations shape our capacity to love. Human beings can't live without relationships, we are similar to computers that way, hardwired, likewise. We come across so many relationships in our lives from mom, dad, friends, relatives, to spouse, lover etc. etc. We fall in love without our will, and when someone exudes love, we inherently want to be with them. However, as situations and time pass, either a relationship matures or some people decide to separate ways without ever giving solace and moving on. Despite our best efforts, relationships change despite our efforts to maintain civility.

Unhappiness fills our thoughts when it comes to relationships because we follow a belief system blindly. We fail to recognise the undeniable fact that everyone, including you and I, is flawed. The challenge is to accept people as they are and love them unconditionally. Why don't we try to understand the basis of our views rather than engulfing ourselves in negative emotions to the point where we fail to notice the magic of our relationships? Why do we fail to remember that suffering always goes hand in hand with love?

Being judgment-free is definitely the key, and we can only do this if we train our minds to accept other people's flaws with open hearts. Do you know what? It's time to put your past hurts behind you and focus on relationship satisfaction rather than perfection. Open your mind to incredible new thoughts and beliefs because, as they say, it's like a parachute. You must understand wabi-sabi feelings in order to fully understand them.

It all comes down to accepting that our relationships are flawed, imperfect, and transient.
